Meet Your Classmates
A big part of starting college is meeting your fellow classmates and making new friends. At Wisconsin’s private colleges more than 60,000 students contribute every day to our unique learning environments. We thought you might like to meet just a few of the students who could be your new classmates.

My uncle is an engineer for NASA, so you can imagine how the conversation turned to computers and technology at Thanksgiving. I grew up believing technology plays a key role in our daily lives, and at Carroll I’m pursuing my dream to help others through computer design. I set my goals high, and someday hope to be a software engineer for a large technology corporation. I stay pretty busy as an RA, but I’m also on the Carroll Activities Board and the intramural softball team.

College life is hectic, and I’m trying to take in as much of it as I can. I’m an English major, but I also participate in the theater productions here. I’m even going to travel to London with my theater and art history class. I enjoy acting, but I hope to be a writer one day. I know my education and experience at Edgewood will help me get there. Lecture-style classes with hundreds of students where you’re just a face in the crowd isn’t my style—I really appreciate the one-on-one attention we get at Edgewood.

As soon as I took one step onto Northland’s campus, I knew it was the right fit for me. Northland’s commitment to environmental stewardship really speaks to me. I play on the college soccer team and was just elected president of the student association. The faculty and staff here have really encouraged me and have helped me prepare for my future. I thought college would be out of reach for me because I didn’t think I could afford it. Thankfully, financial aid allowed me not only to attend college, but the college of my choice.

I’m studying to be a nurse at Concordia—eventually I hope to be a medical flight nurse. Each and every day, I learn something new and love being able to care for others. It is truly rewarding, and I look forward to the day when I’ll receive my nursing license and I’ll be the nurse caring for the patient. Concordia is a place where I can put my passion for nursing into action. It’s a place where I continue to grow personally and academically.
